1st Lt Edward C. Winkle graduated from Leipsic High School and Tiffin Business University and was a clerk at City Loan and Guaranty before he enlisted at Camp Perry, Ohio on 4 February 1942.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
