More information

Sgt Lloyd Kleese was employed by Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co before he entered the Regular Army at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio on 15 October 1940.

According to a letter received by Sgt. Kleese's mother: "The records concerning your son shows that he, and 10 others, were fired upon by the enemy while on a mission to establish an outpost at Wolfnager, Germany. Later, the area was thoroughly searched and only 2 of the men were found and they were dead."
