Pfc Richard W. Evey attended high school for four years and was a clerk at T.A. Hull & Son grocery store before he enlisted at Camp Grant, Illinois on 24 March 1942.He died from the effects of artillery shell fragments in his stomach, back and arm.
He is remembered at the Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta, Macon County, Illinois.
