Pfc Robert F. Snyder graduated from high school in 1941 and attended college for one year before he joined the U.S. Army Reserve at State College, Pennsylvania on 26 October 1942. He was sent to England in May 1944 and in July 1944 transferred to France.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
He is remembered at the Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Buttonwood, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
