Pfc Clovis C. Basden graduated from Paris High School in 1937 and was employed at a furniture company.He was married to Jessie Oleta Pendergrass on 20 January 1940.
He enlisted at Camp Wolters, Texas on 22 March 1944.
He was awarded a Bronze Star for leading a patrol in enemy territory on 26 November 1944.
His brother served in Italy.
