Pfc Charles A. Hurley graduated from South High School.He enlisted on 11 November 1942 in Springfield, Massachusetts and was sent overseas in February 1944.
In June 1944 he was reported wounded in action by artillery fire and spent several months in a hospital in England. He had been back in action only a week when he was killed.
Pfc Hurley is remembered at St John's Cemetery in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts with a memorial marker.
