T/Sgt Frank L. Wease enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 21 November 1942.He was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious service as platoon sergeant from 14 June 1944 to 7 November 1944.
The citation for his DSC stated:
"Technical Sergeant Frank L. Wease, United States Army, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with the 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces on 14 January 1945. Technical Sergeant Wease's intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty at the cost of his life, exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 30th Infantry Division and the United States Army."
