Sgt Frank O'Leary attended Hope High School and was employed as a bookkeeper by the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company. Besides his work with the Geneva Fire Department, were he was vice-president and lieutenant, he was a member of the North Providence Democratic Town Committee. He also helped to organize the North Providence Boy ScoutsHe enlisted in Providence, Rhode Island on 10 December 1943.
Frank O'Leary joined the 3rd Squad, 1st Platoon, G Company on 6 September 1944.
He was killed on the main street in Merzenhausen, Germany.
Sgt O'Leary is also mentioned on a memorial plaque in front of the City Hall of North Providence City.
