Pvt John M. Haggart Jr. attended Hartford and Bulkely High Schools. He was employed at he Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company.He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Hartford, Connecticut on 24 November 1942.
According to available records, Pfc Haggart was taken prisoner and died the same day. At that time his unit was engaged in the fighting around La Gleize, Belgium. Further information about the exact circumstances and the place where he died is not available at this time.
