Pvt Desmond A. Siddon graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1941. In vacation periods and for a time following graduation, he served a pharmacist apprenticeship at the Connor Pharmacy and entered the Albany College of Pharmacy in 1942, from which he graduated with a degree of bachelor of science on 30 September 1944.He enlisted in Albany, New York on 7 August 1944 and was sent overseas early in January 1945.
