Pfc Cecil V. Cunningham had his own carpenter company.

He enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 19 March 1944 and was sent overseas in September 1944.

Pfc Cunningham died of a head wound. He was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 17 January 1945 and was given his final resting place on 16 August 1948.
