Pfc John P. Sink enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 17 January 1941.He died of wounds, sustained schrapnel in the abdomen.
He was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 24 October 1944. After being disinterred and after the cemetery was given a permanent status, he was given his final resting place on 26 August 1948.
