Robert E. Craig drummer in the Bennie Somer’s Orchestra in his hometown.He enlisted on 16 January 1943 and was sent overseas in May 1944.
He died on 24 November in an army field hospital in France of wounds suffered in action in Germany.
The photo shows the Bell which is posted on the cemetery in Clyde, Ohio in 1950. The bell was donated by the class of 1940, the classmates of Robert and his wife Dolores. The Bell first stood in front of the high school but was moved due to the construction of a new school.
