Pfc Henry J. Boltshauser graduated from Santa Cruz High School and operated a poultry ranch

He enlisted in San Francisco, California on 26 September 1942.

His parents were born in Sweden.

Pfc Boltshauer was first wounded in June 1944 by a German hand grenade and was sent to a hospital in England to recover from his wounds. In October 1944 he was sent back into action with his unit and was wounded again on Christmas Day 1944 during bitter fighting. He was sent to a hospital in France where he succumbed to his wounds on 12 January 1945.

He was first buried at the Temporary Military Cemetery of Solers, France and was transferred to the American War Cemetery Epinal in 1948.
