Pvt George Schrepfer immigrated with his sister on 22 August 1923 and sailed with the SS Kroonland from Hamburg, Germany to New York City, New York under the name Georg Schrepfer. He was born as Heinrich Schrepfer.He graduated from Hammond Tech High School and was the proprietor of the Green Grill lunchroom in Calumet City for several years
He enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 4 October 1943 and was sent overseas in April 1944.
