Capt Thurston E. Eskelin graduated from Wyandotte High School.He enlisted at Fort Mc Arthur, San Pedro on 16 March 1942.
He was awarded the Purple Heart medal a first time for wounds, received in August 1944. He was also awarded the Bronze Star medal for his leadership and initiative during the attack on Richterich on 17 October 1944.
