T/5 Arthur B. Shearin joined the National Guard in Warrenton, North Carolina on 16 September 1940.

He is remembered at the Bethelem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Arcola, Warren County, North Carolina.

Note: Two of his brothers were named Lewis. One died at 1 year of age and the other was born nine years later and was named the same.
