Pfc Clarke E. Krivanec graduated from Rupert High School.

He enlisted in Pocatello, Idaho on 21 January 1943 and was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.). He studied at George Washington University in St Louis.

Per a letter from an Army buddy to his parents "we were captured by the Germans on Christmas Eve, 1944. Krivanec was wounded in the left leg and was left at a German aid station while the others were marched on to the prison camps."
