Sgt Thomas F. Grimes was a shipping and receiving clerk before he enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 19 April 1941.According to German records, Sgt Grimes was taken prisoner and died in Feldlazarett 257 of a head shot wound. This German field hospital was stationed in the schoolhouse of Büdesheim/Eifel, Germany at that time. He was initially buried at the local cemetery.
