Pfc Harry E. Burlingham attended high school for one year and was a lineman and serviceman with the telephone company before he enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 25 February 1943.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Le Chêne Guérin, France.
