Pfc Robert L. Hage attended Lee High School and was employed by the Holland American Wafer Company before he enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 3 April 1943.

Pfc Hage was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.

His brother Glenn P. Hage is buried at Florence American Cemetery, Italy.
