2nd Lt Robert H. Zwicky graduated from Marquette High School in 1939 and attended Oshkosh State Teachers College. He was employed as an office clerk at Wisconsin National Life Insurance Company.

He enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 29 August 1942. He was sent overseas in May 1944.

On the occasion of the liberation of Paris, the 28th Infantry Division was given the honor of parading down the Champs Elysees on 29 August 1944. A postage stamp was issued to commemorate this event and it shows Lt Zwicky marching at the head of his men.

Lt Zwicky is remembered at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin with a memorial marker.
