Stephen Jones inducted in the army on 16 March 1944 at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah, trained at Camp Roberts, California and was assigned overseas with the infantry in August or September 1944.Received the expert rifleman award.
He was a graduate of North Summit High School at Coalville, Utah and attended school at Weber College in Ogden.
Prior to entering the service he had completed a mission for the L.D.S. Church in California.
