Pfc Glenn A. Smith enlisted in April 1943. He was sent overseas in November 1943.

Pfc Smith was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Vossenack, Germany on 8 November 1944. He arrived in Stalag 2-A in Neubrandenburg, Germany on 9 December 1944. His condition upon arrival was poor, due to exposure to the cold weather.

On the afternoon of 26 December, he developed a chill and was put to bed. A stretcher was called and he was carried to the hospital of the camp. Pfc Smithdied before reaching there. According to the doctor's statement, his death was due to a heart attack.
