More information

Pfc Gordon F. Brader was employed at Standard Oil Company before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Buffalo, New York on 19 November 1942.

Per John E. Potwin, platoon leader: "...Brader was seriously wounded when he stepped on a mine. Two other soldiers with him were also wounded thus unable to carry him to a safer place and he (Gordon) insisted upon their leaving him though they wanted to stay beside him. Making him as comfortable as possible, with a bandage on his wound and food on hand, they left."
