Pfc Edward R. Kieva enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 18 April 1944.
He had been in service nine months, three of them overseas.
A graduate of South High School, he was employed by the Duquesne Club before entering service.
His brothers also served, Tony Kieva was seriously wounded on Leyte and Albert Kieva had been reported missing in Germany.
