Pvt Walter V. Merda enlisted on 17 March 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He went overseas in March of 1944. The infantryman formerly worked at a Square Cut Rate market.Pvt Merda failed to return to base after a battle in Belgium. He was first reported as missing in Action.
