Pfc Robert B. Caughhorn was employed at the Boied Crane Company before he enlisted in Toledo, Ohio on 24 August 1941.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his head.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
