Sgt Carl E. Rowe worked on the family farm before he enlisted.He was wounded on 16 September 1944 when his regiment was fighting in the vicinity of Haraucourt/Buissoncourt. He was evacuated to the 60th Field Hospital where died of his wounds on 21 September. This hospital was stationed in Haraucourt-sur-Seille at the time.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
