Pfc Ludwig Schwarz attended high school for one year and was employed at the Palmer Lumber Company before he enlisted in Tacoma, Washington on 9 June 1942.

He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first burried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
