Pfc William P. Hicks graduated from George School in Pennsylvania and graduated from Cornell University in 1933. He was associated with his father at Hicks Nursey Incorporated.

He enlisted in Romulus, New York on 18 April 1944.

Pfc Hicks is remembered at the Westbury Friends Cemetery in Westbury, Nassau County, New York.
