Pfc Joseph W. Quinn enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 4 August 1942.

He completed 4 years of high school and was a grinder before he enlisted.

Pfc Quinn was a prisoner of war and on 25 January was taken to a German military hospital because of a fracture of his left thigh. His leg was infected and his leg had to be amputated. He was already in a septic condition and died on 30 January.

He is remembered at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn, Walworth County, Wisconsin.
