Pvt James A. Roberts was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in late 1942 and worked for Chrysler Jefferson.

He re-enlisted in the Army in Septmber 1943 and was sent overseas in May 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
