S/Sgt Nathan J. Tillett attended former Central High School for two years and was employed by the Nickel Plate Railroad before he enlisted in Toledo, Ohio on 13 January 1943. He was sent overseas in February 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his colon.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
