Pvt Alexander Fratila Jr. attended Salem High School for four years and was a manager at Fratila's restaurant before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 10 January 1944. He was sent overseas in August 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
