Pfc Adam J. Sihelnik attended high school for four years and was a driver before he enlisted in Columbus, Ohio on 10 January 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his thigh.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
