Sgt Donald L. Nelson enlisted in Portland, Indiana on 17 January 1941. He served with the military police unit for fourteen months. He was sent overse overseas in November 1944.He was married to Frances Missicano in May 1941. He was the father of two small sons, Donald Jr., 2 and Joseph James, age seven months.
