Pfc John M. Runge was employed at Lily Tulip Cup Corp.He enlisted in New York City, New York on 15 March 1943.
He was killed during a midnight patrol to Bedburg-Hau, Germany.
According the a German record, he was initially buried at the cemetery of Bedburg-Hau and disinterred by occupation forces on 19 March 1946. On this record his date of death was noted as 4 November 1944.
