Sgt Harry E. Hoffman enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 15 December 1942.

Sgt. Hoffman saw action in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

While taking part in the invasion of France on D-day, Sgt. Hoffman was injured and spent more than 30 days in a hospital with a back injury.
