Pfc Curtis R. Longenberger graduated from Mount Cornel High School where he was an honor student and a member of the track team. He was employed at the Middletown Air Depot and the Glenn Martin airplane manufacturer.He enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 14 November 1942 and first saw action in Italy and participated in the D-Day landings.
Pfc Longenberger was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, the Netherlands.
