Pvt Upton S. Peters was married to Marjorie Lewis in 1938. The couple was later divorced.He was a fisherman before he enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 1 December 1942.
Pvt Peters was reported wounded in action in the vicinity of Werbemont, Belgium and died three days later.
