Pfc Bernard T. Chiappetta was a chauffeur before he enlistedin New Orleans, Louisiana, on 3 October 1942.

His brother, Sgt John A. Chiappetta, was kiled in action on 7 January 1945 near Rothbach in France. He is buried at the American Military Cemetery of Lorraine, France.
