1st Lt Arthur J. Miller died in a field hospital on 4 March 1945 after being struck in the skull and chest by shell fragments two days earlier.

At the time of his death, the 10th Infantry Regiment was engaged in the fighting in the vicinity of Consdorf, Germany.
