S/Sgt Albert L. Campbell enlisted in Louisville, Kentucky on 31 July 1941. He attended 1 year of high school and was a chauffeur before he enlisted.

At the time of his death, the 10th Infantry Regiment was engaged in the fighting in the vicinity of Michelshof, Luxembourg.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, Toul, France.

His halfbrother Samuel was killed in a plane crash in Colorado during his service.
