Pfc James G. Weddington attended 3 years of high school and worked on a farm.

He enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 21 March 1944.

He was wounded in action, late December 1944. At the time of his death, the 10th Infantry Regiment was holding the defensive line South of the Sauer River extending generally from Gilsdorf to Reisdorf, Luxembourg.

He married on 18 September 1942 in Alabama.
