Pvt. Joseph F. Judge was a carpenter before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 6 March 1944.

At the time of his death the 10th Infantry Regiment was holding the line in the Moselle Bridgehead.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
