1st Lt Walter J. Innes graduated from Heidelberg College and was a history and civics teacher at Akron Kenmore High School where he was also the basketball coach.

He enlisted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio on 25 July 1942 and was sent overseas in July 1944.

The first picture was taken in high school in 1930.
