Pvt Merwin B. Foote enlisted at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas on 30 December 1943.

He attended 5 years of College and worked for his own account before he enlisted.

He was first buried in the U.S. Temporary Cemetery Limey, Toul, France.

At the time of his death, the 10th Infantry Regiment was engaged in the vicinity of Pommérieux, France.

He was only two weeks in action.
