T/5 Marcie A. Brown enlisted in the Regular Army at Ft. Thomas Newport, Kentucky on 23 October 1940.

He worked on a farm before he enlisted.

His brother Curtis was KIA in Italy on 31 January 1944. He is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno Italy.

At the time of his death the 10th Infantry Regiment was engaged in the vicinity of Arnaville, France.
