Oscar Green graduated fromNewburgh Free Academy and attended New Paltz Stae Teacher’s College.

He enlisted on 13 February 1943 and graduated from the Officer Candidate School at Camp Hood, Texas, where he was promoted to first lieutenant in August 1943. He first trained West Point cadets in the tank destroyer school before he was sent Europe.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
